Work Style & Background
My 3-year career with Workday Extend on the Developer Website was heavily focused on highly technical personas. Because of this, I became very versed at working in complex and ambiguous project environments, and I believe no problem is too hard to solve. I love to approach all projects with a deep sense of empathy towards the end users and audience. As a current designer with Hireology (a recruiting and hiring software startup), I enjoy advocating for the everyday users across various industries who may have limited understanding of technical jargon and require cognitive and/or technical assistance.
Inclusivity, ethics, and accessibility are at the forefront of my work style. I prefer to involve engineering earlier rather than later to get well-rounded insights throughout my projects, and get design and product management feedback early and often. I like to think of myself as a perpetual student and strive to learn more about the most user-friendly and ethical ways to apply the latest technologies, such as AI. I am a proponent that technology can be a strong force for good when we consider its impact on end users, the industry as a whole, and policies surrounding it, and of course, the planet.
I am an individual who started my professional career before obtaining a higher education degree, although I have earned my certificate of UX/UI from Thinkful (now Chegg). I am grateful and proud that I was able to start my career through Workday's Opportunity Onramp program, which provides economic opportunity for folks from nontraditional backgrounds. I continue to improve my craft day by day at Hireology.
