STYLE & BACKGROUND

My 3-year career with Workday (a Fortune 500 HR and finance platform) on the Extend product, Workday's proprietary developer website, was heavily focused on highly technical personas. During this period of my career, I became very versed at working in complex and ambiguous project environments. I believe no problem is too hard to solve and I enjoy solving the puzzle that is each project. As a current UX Designer at Hireology (a recruiting and hiring platform), I enjoy advocating for everyday users across industries who may have limited understanding of technical jargon and require cognitive and/or technical assistance.

Inclusivity, ethics, and accessibility are at the forefront of my work style. I prefer to involve engineering earlier rather than later to get well-rounded insights throughout my projects, and get design and product management feedback early and often. I like to think of myself as a perpetual student and strive to learn more about the most user-friendly and ethical ways to apply the latest technologies, such as AI. I am a proponent that technology can be a force for good when we consider its impact on current and future users, policies and laws, and of course, the planet.

I am an individual who started my professional career before obtaining a higher education degree. However, I have earned my certificate of UX/UI from Thinkful (now Chegg) and I am currently pursuing my certificate in Learning Experience Design from Digital Learning Institute as well as my bachelor's degree in Business from Front Range Community College. I am grateful and proud that I was able to start my career through Workday's Opportunity Onramp program, which provides economic opportunity for folks from "nontraditional backgrounds." I continue to improve my craft day by day at Hireology.
